1995 Saleen S351 #111

This Saleen is a two owner car. I bought it around the year 2000.

It was sold to is first owner in Ct. It was a first car present. A N/A S351, Alcon Brakes, Chassis brace (roll bar) 10 inch rear white Magnesium wheels, Supertuner Stereo with CD stacker in trunk. Cloth Recaro interior.

Several years post purchase, Saleen agreed to upgrade the car to original R specs. Cobra Automotive was contracted to do the install. Everything went well, except like most early S351R cars, it was under fueled. The engine went poof, on test drive number one.

Complete rebuild time, with all forged internals and upgraded injectors. Better, but the owner got married and the car was not kept, I bought it. A complete, built on the car long tube header 3 inch exhaust system was done by Kooks, at Kooks in Brooklyn. The car was shipped to Kooks for the fabrication. These headers , and exhaust are a work of art. It retains the machine gun tips!

Shipped it to Florida, and began an intense effort to rid the car of the common S351 R maladies, like stalling at stop lights. I worked with a tuner to plug the Saleen fuel management system, and burn a chip to handle all of the engine fuel management. Viola, no stalling, 515 RWHP. Shortened stick shift handle, by previous owner. 6 new Bilstein shocks.

It now has 31K miles, and looks like new. The negatives:

The blower creates positive crankcase pressure which forces oil very slowly out the rear main seal. I have replaced it twice. It still drips. Early in the cars life, someone backed into the drivers front fender, it was replaced, along with the hood, rather than do any repairs, I have the documentation.

No squeaks. No rattles. Tight as a drum. Clean. Every original ordering document, hang tags, everything. It is bullet fast. I have treated with great respect and care for 18 years. I am selling my other Saleen (1995 #49) my 1966 Shelby race car, and several other toys. Time to let others enjoy these wonders.

$28,000.00 Fairly priced.  #111
